Calming the Storm: Managing Agitation in Neurocognitive Disorders is a 1 hour class and part of the Dementia Symptoms Demystified: A Series for Social Work Professionals

Agitation is a common but challenging symptom in neurocognitive disorders, often arising from unmet needs or environmental triggers. This session provides insights into the causes of agitation, alongside effective behavioral techniques to reduce stress and promote calm. Attendees will leave equipped with practical skills to manage agitation compassionately and create a more supportive environment for their clients.

This is part 4 of Dementia Symptoms Demystified: A Series for Social Work Professionals, a focused training series designed to deepen your understanding of the most challenging major neurocognitive disorder symptoms. Across four sessions, this series examines the causes and types of key symptoms, including memory loss, psychosis, aphasia, and agitation. Each session provides actionable insights into treatment approaches, including medications, and equips attendees with practical behavioral strategies to improve care and communication.
