Capacity is a 1 hour talk being offered in association with the Ventura County Bar Association Estate Planning & Probate Section.
Doctors Vlaskovits and Lande plan to discuss the nuanced issue of “capacity” and the many ways in affects the Probate and Estates practitioner. How can we be sure our client is capable of signing a trust? What is the difference between dementia and Major Neurocognitive Disorder? Please come and hear what the doctors have to say on these and other subjects.
-Dr. Vlaskovits is Program Director for the Psychiatry Residency. He also is Adjunct Faculty for the VCMC Addiction Medicine Fellowship. He was previously Medical Director of the VCMC Inpatient Psychiatric Unit and has held leadership positions on the VCMC medical staff, including Chief of Psychiatry and Chair of the Credentials Committee. He has taught family practice residents and psychologists-in-training. His present practice specialties are acute inpatient psychiatry, residential psychiatry, addiction medicine, and forensic psychiatry.
-Dr. Lande is a clinical psychologist with a specialty in neuropsychology, rehabilitation, and assessment of decision making capacity. Currently Dr. Lande owns and operates Insight Neuropsychology, where his team provides neuropsychological assessment, psychoeducational assessment, capacity assessment, and psychotherapy in both English and Spanish in both Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties.
